There is a need for drone surveillance, integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI), to improve waste management, Swachh Andhra Corporation Limited (SACL) Chairman Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram has said.
A meeting at the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation office on December 5, Thursday, Mr. Pattabhi Ram, along with SACL Managing Director Anil Kumar Reddy and VMC Commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra, discussed the action plan drawn for ‘Swachh Vijayawada’.
Mr. Pattabhi Ram highlighted the crucial role of technology in maintaining cleanliness. It is high time that the VMC used Artificial Intelligence and drones in sanitation management practices in the city to ensure effectiveness.
Mr. Dhyanachandra outlined various issues related to waste management in the city. He pointed out the importance of using AI and drone surveillance to detect black spots, monitor stray dogs and cattle, prevent mosquito breeding, and address other critical concerns related to sanitation.
The meeting was attended by officials from the SACL and VMC.
