Hyderabad: Special Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Hyderabad at Nampally sentenced Jasdeep Singh Bains and Jaspal Singh Sohi to two years in jail in connection with online job and multilevel marketing fraud. The court also levied a penalty of Rs.2,000 on them.
CID chief Shikha Goel said that the CID received a complaint in 2003 from one B. Gopala Krishna Rao stating that Bains had floated ‘Dream Merchants 4U’ and opened branches in erstwhile AP. He promised providing online computer data entry work at a pay of Rs.8,000 per month through his company Online Job Work Company Private Limited with the active association of Sohi.
Sohi illegally got members enrolled under the multilevel marketing ring by collecting Rs.16,500 from each member.
The CID examined 31 witness and collected 58 documents and filed a chargesheet based on which the court convicted the duo.
