Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda criticised the Congress party, alleging it to have become reliant on regional parties for its survival. “BJP, on the other hand, governs independently in 13 states and through alliances in six more,” he said.
Addressing a meeting held by the Telangana BJP in Hyderabad on Saturday, he pointed out the ‘failures’ of the one-year Congress government. Mr. Nadda said that Telangana’s development would be possible only under BJP rule and urged the public to support the party in the upcoming elections.
He accused the Revanth Reddy government of betraying all sections of society, including farmers. “The Congress government under Mr. Revanth Reddy has failed to fulfil its poll promises. It has not delivered the Rythu Bharosa scheme or provided financial support to farm labourers as promised during the elections,” he said.
Mr. Nadda also alleged that Congress had won elections in Telangana, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh, by making false promises. He described the government as one run by “magicians who create illusions instead of implementing real governance”.
Telangana BJP president and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy also made a scathing attack on the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), labelling them “two sides of the same coin.” Government had not sanctioned new pensions or ration cards. Real people-centric governance is only possible with BJP,” he stated.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that the Congress government had become a “puppet of urban Naxalites” and accused it of fostering communal tensions. He expressed confidence that the people of Telangana would reject the Congress and ensure the BJP’s victory in upcoming local body elections, including the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls.
