Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) organised an awareness walk on the plastic ban which is going to come into effect from January 1, 2025, on the Beach Road here on Saturday. Prominent film celebrity and Swachh Visakha ambassador R.P. Patnaik took part in the programme as the chief guest, and has urged the citizens to stop using single-use plastic items and switch to eco-friendly alternatives. A large number of public who took part in the programme, took a pledge. GVMC Additional Commissioners D.V. Ramanamurthy and R. Somanna Rao, and Chief Medical Officer Naresh Kumar were among those present.
