Hyderabad: The ‘Mana Bus’ scheme introduced by TGRTC led to an increase in ridership and revenue contributing to its financial recovery, the state-run corporation said on Thursday.
“To meet growing passenger demand, 1,389 new buses, including luxury and sleeper services, have been added. Among these, special services connect Hyderabad with surrounding regions, including long distance sleeper buses and city-specific electric vehicles,” TGRTC said.
In its push towards environmental sustainability, over 250 electric buses were pressed into service in Hyderabad, Karimnagar and other cities. Plans are also under way to expand this fleet of buses to 2,400 by 2025, it said.tnn
