Agniveer and WMP Recruitment Rallies to Be Held in Hyderabad


Hyderabad: The Indian Army announced two major recruitment drives to enrol Agniveers and woman Military Police (WMP) candidates. The first rally will be held till 16, at GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium, Gachibowli. This will be followed by a recruitment drive under the Unit Headquarters Quota (UHQ) from January 6 to March 9, at Joginder Singh Stadium (Ex-Thapar Stadium), AOC Centre, Secunderabad.

The GMC Balayogi Stadium rally will screen candidates from all 33 districts of the state, as well as WMP aspirants from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Puducherry. Categories open for recruitment include Agniveer general duty, technical, clerk/store keeper technical, tradesman (10th pass), tradesman (8th pass), and Woman Military Police.

At the AOC Centre, the UHQ rally will focus on Agniveer general duty, office assistant/SKT (AOC ward only), and tradesmen roles such as chef, artisan misc. works, and washerman. Outstanding sportsmen must report by 6 am on January 3 for trials in athletics, swimming, diving, or weightlifting, accompanied by relevant certificates.

The Army, in a notice, said that the recruitment was automated and transparent and cautioned candidates against falling prey to touts or agents claiming to influence selections.

Eligibility criteria for both rallies require candidates to be aged seventeen and a half years to 21 years. Educational qualifications vary, with general duty roles requiring Class 10 pass with 45 per cent aggregate marks and 33 per cent in each subject. Office assistant/SKT candidates must have passed 10+2 with 60 per cent aggregate marks and meet specific subject requirements. Driving licence holders will be given preference for driver roles.
