Hyderabad: A 35-year-old auto driver has been arrested by the Nirmal police for allegedly attempting to rape a minor girl. Police said that the accused was charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
On Saturday, the girl did not go to school as she was unwell. “The girl’s mother gave her 5 to buy a chocolate. When the minor was returning home after buying a chocolate, the accused came across her. He lured the girl with a promise to buy her another chocolate,” police said.
The accused took the victim to his house and attempted to abuse her. Later, she returned home crying. When her mother enquired what happened to her, the minor narrated the ordeal. Later, police arrested him.
