At Vijayawada International Airport, three flights—two from Delhi and Sharjah and an Air Force flight—were diverted to Hyderabad between 7.30 am and 8.30 am They safely returned to Vijayawada and landed by 10.30 am Additionally, two flights scheduled to depart for Bengaluru and Hyderabad were delayed due to the weather. Airport director M. Lakshmi Kanth Reddy stated, “Sudden and thick fog in the atmosphere caused the diversions and delays.”
Visakhapatnam Airport also faced disruptions. Three IndiGo flights were rerouted: flights from Hyderabad and Bengaluru were diverted to Hyderabad, while the Delhi-Visakhapatnam flight was redirected to Bhubaneswar. A Chennai-Visakhapatnam flight experienced delays, with an estimated arrival at 9:58 am, and a Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam flight could not depart on time.
Airport authorities at both locations confirmed the diversions were necessary due to low visibility and prioritised passenger safety. Such weather conditions, though unusual, highlight the need for flexibility in operations during adverse atmospheric situations.

• 6E 917/6089 VOMM-VTZ-VOMM (Chennai – Vizag – Chennai) ETA 1140 (1710 IST) cancelled for the day.
