Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and its legislature party leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has directed his party’s legislators to aggressively question the Congress-led state government on its ‘failures’ during the upcoming Assembly session, beginning December 9.
During a BRSLP meeting at his farmhouse in Erravalli on Sunday, KCR emphasised the importance of holding the government accountable, particularly on issues affecting key sectors like agriculture and education.
Addressing the media after the meeting, KTR stated that KCR had outlined a clear plan for legislators to expose the government’s lapses. Central to the party’s focus are unfulfilled promises to farmers, including the failure to implement full crop loan waiver, provide bonus on Minimum Support Prices (MSP) and extend financial assistance to agricultural labourers.
The meeting also expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s management of Gurukul schools which are essential for the education of children from marginalized Dalit and tribal communities. A report titled ‘Gurukula Bata’prepared by party leader R.S. Praveen Kumar and submitted to KCR, detailed alleged systemic issues plaguing these institutions.
Additionally, the BRS plans to question the government’s proposed land acquisition policies for pharma villages and its failure to fully implement welfare schemes such as Dalit Bandhu, which aims to empower Dalit families financially.
