BC organisations to seek probe against former CMO officials

VIJAYAWADA: Expressing serious anguish at the continued humiliation of senior officials belonging to backward classes communities, backward classes organizations have decided to meet the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu to seek a probe into the role of former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s secretaries in influencing the present administration. The BC organisations strongly suspect that retired IAS officer Dhanunjay Reddy, who served as secretary to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, continues to influence the senior officials in the present regime to target the officials belonging to the SC, ST, BC and minorities. The organisations wonder as to how senior officials continue to take instructions from the leaders of the previous regime by ignoring the priorities of the NDA govt led by Chandrababu Naidu.
BC empowerment federation state president Pamarthi Jayaprakash requested the chief minister to book all the officials attached with the former CMO in the last five years for their irregularities and atrocities against the officials of weaker sections. The federation is of the view that senior officials who did not succumb to the pressures of the previous regime were deliberately hunted even after the regime change by tarnishing their image.
The BC federations readied a list of senior officials from weaker sections, who were punished and humiliated by the previous regime and continue to be in the non-focal points for submission to the chief minister. “Previous regime got IAS conferred to two officials-Neelakantha Reddy and Anil Kumar Reddy by sidelining many high caliber officers from backward classes communities. While Neelakantha Reddy served as PS to Dhanunjay Reddy, Anil Kumar Reddy served as Pulivendula Area Development Authority (PADA) OSD,” said Jayaprakash.
“We request the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu to take the issue of humiliation of officials belonging to SC, ST, BC with a serious note as many senior officials in the present regime are taking instructions from the YSRCP leaders to harass the honest officials,” alleged Jayaprakash.
BC organisations highlighted the role of former minister Botcha Satyanarayana behind recent govt’s decision to probe against Vizianagaram district former joint collector GC Kishore Kumar, who hails from BC community. “Kishore is an upright officer and eligible to get posted as district collector. He served as JC three years ago and the charges were levelled based on a committee appointed by the previous regime. It is certainly a plot to defame the senior official,” said another BC leader. He suspected that Kishore, an upright officer, was being targeted as he did not blindly follow the instructions from former CMO secretary Dhanunjay Reddy.
The organizations have also mentioned that the officials of 2014-batch Dr A Siri (BC), Lavanyaveni (SC), Abhishkth (SC), GC Kishore (BC) were denied serving as district collectors despite their juniors of 2016 and 2017 batches were also given chance. “It is high time that the govt look into the influence of the tainted officers attached to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy before the things went out of hands,” alerted Ravindra Yadav, a BC leader.
