Hyderabad: Chenetha Santha, the authentic handloom weaver’s market has marked its 10th anniversary and as a part of celebration a weavers exhibition was held at Our Sacred Space, here in Secunderabad.
Saraswati Kavula, started the ‘Chenetha Santha’ market to support the Handloom tradition by enabling weavers to sell their produce directly to customers. This market marked 10 years of Chenetha Santha, that has blossomed against the odds – a courageous, genuine handloom weavers exhibition- bringing gorgeous fabric that hold within their stands the heritage of our nation.
In a press release ‘Chenetha Santha’ said that the weavers are master craftsmen of ancient tradition. This intricate art form was passed on through the generation was hit with the danger of extinction, plagued by commercial middlemen charging high prices while the weavers receive low prices for their fabrics, the release said.
