Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police have booked a case against the manager and staff of a private bank for allegedly embezzlement of funds to the tune of about Rs 6 crore from the account of a Non-Resident Indian (NRI).
As per available information, the suspects who are employees of the bank in Srinagar Colony had conspired together and over a period of time, embezzled the funds in the account of the complainant. They further used the money for personal need.
The fraud is learnt to have come to light after the complaint grew suspicious over the lack of funds in his bank account and alerted the bank authorities.
Based on a complaint, the Punjagutta police have booked a case and took up investigation.
