“In any part of the world, one’s identity lies with one’s mother. The mother is the embodiment of our culture and traditions,” said Chief Minister A. Later, the Chief Minister felicitated poet Ande Sri, who penned the state song ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’in-charge Vice-Chancellor of JNAFAU and designer of the Telangana Talli statue T. Gangadhar and architect Ramana Reddy.
In his address, the Chief Minister described the unveiling of ‘Telangana Talli’ statue as a milestone in the State’s journey towards achieving self-identity after a prolonged struggle for separate Statehood and charged the previous BRS government with neglecting the aspirations of four crore people by neither recognising the State song, nor officially installing Telangana Talli statue. “My heartfelt congratulations to all those who participated in this programme, which will remain forever in the annals of history,” he said, adding that he and his colleagues see their respective mothers in newly installed Telangana Talli statue.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the statue enshrines Telangana Talli as the embodiment of a mother, elder sister, and grandmother, symbolizing the collective identity of the people of Telangana. “Those who are criticizing us for altering the design of Telangana Talli were in power for the past 10 years. Why did they not officially install a Telangana Talli statue during their tenure?” he asked.
