Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath stressed the need for the construction of a second flyover in Singh Nagar and also discussed the long-pending Gunadala ROB (Railway Overbridge) with the Railway Minister.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath has urged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to expedite the approval for the redevelopment proposals of Vijayawada railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The proposal, estimated to cost at ₹819.51 crore, has been sent to NITI Aayog by the Chairman of the Railway Board (CRB). Efforts should be made to ensure its swift approval and speedy execution of development works, he said.
On Tuesday, the MP met the Railway Minister at Rail Bhavan in New Delhi to discuss various development works and pending railway issues in the Vijayawada parliamentary constituency. He stressed the need for the construction of a second flyover in Singh Nagar, which is part of the Vijayawada Central Assembly constituency, and also discussed the long-pending Gunadala ROB (Railway Overbridge).
Mr. Sivanath also requested approval for eight pending ROBs and RUBs (Railway Underbridges). He also raised concerns about widening roads, drains, and other infrastructure issues related to the Railways in the Western constituency.
He also appealed for the development of the Jaggayyapeta railway station, currently used for goods trains, to accommodate passenger trains as well. Passenger trains travelling via Kondapalli-Madhira should be rerouted through Sattupalli to benefit passengers from the Tiruvuru constituency, he said.
The Railway Minister responded positively to the requests made by Mr. Sivanath and assured that steps would be taken to resolve these issues promptly, according to a press release.
