Hyundai Motor Company reported a 2% YoY and 13% MoM decline in sales in November 2024 to 48,246 units
Hyundai sales stood at 48,246 units last month, a 2% decline from 49,451 units sold in Nov 2023. MoM sales saw an even deeper de-growth by 13% from 55,568 unit sales in Oct 2024. Hyundai currently holds a 13.7% market share which has also fallen by 1% over 14.8% held in Nov 2023. More recently, Hyundai has announced a price hike across range from next year. The maximum increase in prices is capped at Rs 25,000 and comes into effect from 1st Jan 2025.
Hyundai Sales Nov 2024 – Creta at No. 1
Hyundai Creta was the company’s best-selling model last month. It was also the 2nd best-selling car in India after Maruti Baleno. Sales stood at 15,452 units which was a 31% YoY improvement over 11,814 unit sales of Nov 2023. MoM sales however, fell by 12% from 17,497 units of Oct 2024 which was boosted by festive demand. Hyundai Creta will soon receive an electric variantmarking the company’s foray into this highly desirable segment wherein it will take on Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Maruti Suzuki eVitara,
Next on the sales list was Hyundai Venue, sales of which fell by 13% YoY and 11% MoM to 9,754 units. There had been 11,180 units and 10,901 units sold in Nov 2023 and Oct 2024 respectively marking a steep decline in demand. Exter also suffered YoY and MoM decline in demand to 5,747 units. This was a 31% YoY and 19% MoM de-growth.
Posting a 20% YoY improvement in demand, i10 has seen 5,667 units sold last month over 4,708 units sold in Nov 2023. MoM sales however, fell by 9% as against 6,235 units sold in Oct 2024. Aura/Xcent too saw its YoY sales grow by 10% to 4,248 units though sales fell by 12% on a MoM basis.
Hyundai i20 was in lower demand. Sales declined by 31% YoY and 27% MoM to 3,925 units whereas sales had been well above the 5,000 unit mark both in Nov 2023 (5,727 units) and Oct 2024 (5,354 units). Alcazar with 2,134 unit sales last month has posted a notable 12% YoY growth even as sales declined by 3% on a MoM basis.
Hyundai, Verna, Tucson, Ioniq5 Sales Decline
Hyundai Verna, Tucson and Ioniq have seen severely lower demand. Sales of each of these models have fallen heavily both on a YoY and MoM basis. Verna sales were down to 1,213 units while Tucson sales dipped 29% YoY and 40% MoM to 84 units. Ioniq 5, the all-electric SUV, suffered a decline by 77% YoY to just 22 units sold last month from 96 unit sales of Nov 2023. MoM sales also dipped by 31% from 32 units sold in Oct 2024.
