The judge was hearing a writ petition filed by the MLA seeking a direction to Parasuram Chukkapally, SHO, Masab Tank police station, Hyderabad, to return his iPhone 14 Pro Max. SHOs Masab Tank and Banjara Hills forcibly barged into his house on December 5 with 50 police personnel and created a commotion in the house. “During the course of taking the MLA to the police station in connection with a case against him, Parasuram Chukkapally took his mobile phone forcefully and is refusing to give it back to him,” Reddy’s counsel, T.V. Ramana Rao, informed the court.
The govt pleader for Home informed the court that the legislator and his followers behaved in an unruly manner in the police station and created obstructions to the police officers from performing their legitimate duty. “For this reason, the SHO took the MLA’s cell phone, and the same is being sent to the FSL to retrieve the data from the cell phone as he is resorting to conspiracy against the state,” the govt pleader informed. The matter was adjourned to December 12.
