
HYDERABAD: An elderly couple was found dead in their Uppal home on Wednesday. Police suspect suicide due to health problems and discovered a note apparently left by the couple.
The deceased are 60-year-old Duruvasula SSS. Shastri, a retired NTPC employee, and his 54-year-old wife, Duruvasula Jagadishwari, a homemaker, according to Uppal police.
Their son, D Sai Sushanth, an IT professional, lives in Kokapet with his family and visited his parents often. The couple told Sushanth on December 5th they were traveling to Delhi for a seminar Shastri was attending. Sushanth did not hear from them again and their phones were switched off.
On Wednesday, Sushanth visited his parents’ home and noticed a foul smell coming from the locked house. He contacted police, who helped him open the house. Inside, they found the bodies of his parents.
N Election Reddy, Station House Officer, Uppal, said that they have registered a case based on Sushanth’s complaint and started a probe.
The cause of death would be known after the PME, he added further.
