From an aesthetic point of view, the highlight of the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will be the redesign of the Ultra model. Every leak so far strongly suggests that Samsung’s next-gen Ultra phone will be flatter and have rounder corners than its predecessors. These design cues have been “confirmed” again by high-quality photos of Galaxy S25 Ultra dummy units.
We use “confirmed” in quote marks because these Galaxy S25 Ultra dummies are manufactured in China by a third party and don’t have Samsung branding anywhere.
As always, there is a chance that they might not be entirely accurate, but for what it’s worth, below are a couple of image galleries (via Roland Quandt).
Some details that might be wrong include the camera rings and the lack of a periscope camera module. In fact, the source who shared the renders says “Notice the non-existent periscope camera.”
You might be tempted to think that Samsung might replace the periscope telephoto camera with its new ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) module, which was revealed last month.
However, that telephoto camera tops out at 3x optical zoom, whereas Samsung’s periscope cameras for the past two generations went as high as 10x and 5x zoom.
All in all, the idea that Samsung might shuffle things around again is not inconceivable, but dummy units are what they are and don’t often get things right, particularly around camera modules.
Aside from the telephoto unit, older rumors say the Galaxy S25 Ultra will boast an upgraded 50MP ultrawide shooter with a 1/2.52-inch sensor, 0.7µm pixel size, and an F1.9 aperture.
As for the ALoP camera, it could debut with devices like the rumored Galaxy S25 Slim or the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7. Time will tell.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S25 series at the next big Unpacked event, which is said to take place in January.
