ISKCON celebrates Gita Jayanti in Visakhapatnam

The ISKCON Sagarnagar, Visakhapatnam, celebrated Gita Jayanti in a grand manner at Gurajada Kalakshetram here on Wednesday, with the divine activities of Laksha Gita Dana Maha Yagna and Sampoorna Gita Parayanam.

The event began with a classical dance performance by children, followed by a melodious recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama by the devotees.

The highlight of the celebration was the Sampoorna Gita Parayanam, led by Nitaisevini, along with the enthusiastic participation of thousands of devotees. Simultaneously, a sacred homam was conducted, adding spiritual fervour to the event.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion, including Chinnajeeyar Swamy, Guru Prasad, (governing body commission chairman of ISKCON) and Bhima Prabhu (chairman of Bhaktivedanta Book Trust). They delivered lecture, encouraging the devotees to deepen their commitment to the teachings of Bhagavad Gita.

The Laksha Gita Dana Yagna was inaugurated with the distribution of 3,000 copies of Bhagavad Gita to students from various colleges in and around the city.

Samba Prabhu, president of ISKCON Visakhapatnam, announced a goal of distributing one lakh copies of Bhagavad Gita to students by the next Geeta Jayanti, with the support of generous donors.
