Will rename schemes, institutions named after Cong leaders: KTR

Hyderabad: Alleging the Congress govt in Telangana was resorting to attention diversion politics to cover up its failures, BRS working president KT Rama Rao has said the pink party will oppose attempts to destroy Telangana’s rich culture and heritage and also push the state into crisis with the failures. He also said BRS would change the names of schemes, organisations, and institutions named after Congress leaders such as Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and other leaders after coming to power in future.
In an open letter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, KTR said the BRS govt in future would also shift the statues of the new Telangana Thalli (Congress Thalli) and Rajiv Gandhi to Gandhi Bhavan.
KTR said there was a deliberate attempt by chief minister A Revanth Reddy to destroy Telangana culture and the Congress govt removed Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and Charminar from the official emblem of Telangana. A Rajiv Gandhi statue was installed at the location where the Telangana Thalli statue was supposed to be installed.
“The BRS govt never resorted to actions like changing name of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport or shift Indira Gandhi statues. We focused on the reconstruction of Telangana in 10 years of the BRS rule,” the BRS working president said.
He said the CM should apologise to the people of Telangana and focus on implementing the promises made to the people during the assembly elections in 2023.
