Owing to their popularity, Mahindra Thar discounts for RWD 1.5L Diesel variants is the lowest, with up to Rs 56,000 only
Reviving the lifestyle SUV genre in India, Mahindra Thar has emerged as an absolute phenomenon. It was one of the most sought-after vehicles in India and it even garnered a huge waiting list, since its debut in 2020. However, with the launch of Thar Roxx, sales prospect of Thar (3-Door) seems to have been cannibalised.
To push dealer inventory and increase footfall into the showrooms, Mahindra dealers have been offering hefty year-end discounts. For the month of December 2024, discounts have been increased for Thar with a maximum ceiling of up to Rs 3.06 lakh.
Mahindra Thar Discounts Increased
Despite what looks like a steep asking price, Mahindra Thar Roxx has proved to be a hot cake in India. It comes with increased practicality with 5 doors, larger size, more road presence, vastly superior in-cabin experience and a plethora of features, technology and creature comforts.
Result of which, many buyers seem to be considering Thar Roxx over Thar 3-Door as a worthy upgrade. Thus necessitating dealers to increase already attractive discounts on Thar. The new discounts for Thar goes till Rs 3.06 lakh for the Earth Edition variants, based on the top-spec LX trim level.
Thar Roxx Earth Edition is exclusively offered with matte Desert Fury exterior shade and many unique elements to distinguish it from other standard 4WD variants. Speaking of other standard 4WD variants, they are also subjected to discounts. They get up to Rs 1.06 lakh in discounts.
Discounts on 2WD Variants
Ever since Mahindra launched 2WD variants of Thar 3-Door, the sales prospect of this “lifestyle 4X4 off-road SUV” increased substantially. That is because majority of Thar buyers didn’t go off-road with their 4X4 and only bought one for the sheer road presence and nostalgia.
2WD variants are offered with attractive discounts as well. Thar Petrol RWD model gets a maximum discount of up to Rs 1.31 lakh, an increase of Rs 31,000 from last month. Because of Diesel popularity over Petrol variants, discounts are relatively less for the Thar RWD 1.5 Diesel variants. They get a maximum discount of Rs 56,000 only.
Speculations suggest the company might introduce a facelift of Thar 3-Door with similar elements from Thar Roxx. Expected elements include Roxx’s fascia with new LED lighting elements, 19-inch alloy wheels, an internally operable fuel filler cap, Level-2 ADAS, improved infotainment and fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, Harman Kardon music system and more.
