Two days ago completed 12000 km and had a fun trip to Hampi from Tirupati via Tirupati-Bangalore-Hampi route. This was longest trip in my Hector: very therapeutic experience: When starting from Tirupati, had a mild migraine headache, and the drive to Hampi made it disappear. The drive on-road took a little more than 8 hours one way, and about 1 hour 30 minutes break. Every time I drive the car I feel so pleased.
The car has been flawless except for occasional screeching sound of one of the brakes. Here are some details:
- Average mileage has been between 8 to 13 depending on driving type – on highways with sub 100 speeds you can get close to 15 kmpl, on daily small 1- 2 km rounds you get 8 kmpl.
- Insurance renewed for INR 26000 by MG dealer, better deal than other choices.
- On the Hampi trip, was able to use cruise control for long enough at 110 kmph and overall mileage was about 13.5 kmpl tank to tank.
- I love the car and feel happy just to be in it, very enjoyable music system and pleasing interior.
- The new software update has made infotainment system fairly quick.
