Hyderabad: Telangana Congress’ communications committee chairman Sama Rammohan Reddy on Wednesday said it was former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who came up with his own version and image of Telangana Thalli in the state. There were different images and illustrations of Telangana Thalli since the 1969 statehood agitation, he added.
“BRS working president KT Rama Rao is levelling allegations against the Congress govt of changing the image of the Telangana Thalli statue, which is wrong. The statue unveiled by chief minister A Revanth Reddy is the first official statue of Telangana Thalli in the new state. Earlier, various political parties and organisations had different images of Telangana Thalli during the Telangana agitation since 1969. KCR-led BRS came up with their own version of the statue, which was never made official by the govt,” he claimed.
Stating that political parties like Telangana Sadhana Samithi and Talli Telangana had their own version of Telangana Thalli, Sama Rammohan Reddy said the BRS brought another statue which was different from the ones other political parties had. TNN
