IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has urged IT industry body Nasscom to collaborate with the Young India Skills University conceived by the Telangana government.

The Minister, in a meeting with Nasscom president Rajesh Nambiar, who called on him at the State Secretariat on Wednesday (December 11, 2024), also highlighted how the association can play a critical role in upskilling IT professionals and engineering graduates in the backdrop of the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He wanted Nasscom to leverage its influence to encourage new companies set up operations in Hyderabad, reinforcing the city’s position as a hub for global capability centres (GCCs).

Crediting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership for “establishing a world-class ecosystem that is unparalleled in scale and ambition,” Mr. Sridhar Babu expressed confidence of Telangana emerging as a frontrunner in the IT sector in India in the coming years, the Minister’s office said in a release.

State government’s IT Advisor Sai Krishna, Nasscom representatives Srikant Srinivasan and Praveen along with Government IT strategist Srikant Lanka were present during the meeting.
