Warangal: When the Narcotics Enforcement Wing team members raided a house in Shayampet area of Hanamkonda on Friday, they were taken aback when they saw cannabis plants in full bloom and the paraphernalia required to cultivate them in the backyard of the house.
On Friday, when police raided 72-year-old A Venkat Narsaiah’s residence following a tip-off, it looked like any other house, but when the police personnel checked the backyard, they found five-foot tall marijuana plants. They also found dry marijuana kept for sale at his house. The team arrested Narasaiah and handed him over to Subedari police.
A case has been filed under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, along with other legal proceedings. A detailed investigation is going on to discover the links and networks of the accused.
