Touchwood, reliability remains first class, service is even better.

Bagheera clocks in its 10th service: 85,000 km: still smooth, shiny, silent, superb…
Bagheera my panther completed its 10th service this week. As a reward the car was given a ceramic coating to make it gleam and proudly show off its good looks. Today in my building complex we now have 15 odd of its Lexus sisters here. Most spoke to me about the car, about Lexus, took a drive etc. Me thinks I should ask Lexus to give me some credit for it!!
Total cost of this service was Rs 85,000 odd which included the ceramic coat, a new battery {the regular kind} and link rod changes in the two front wheel units. We evaluated the tyres and hope/believe they will last a while. They have done ~46,000 kms.
Total cost on servicing, cosmetics, parts, tyres, battery (twice), denting/painting for minor bumps now stands at Rs 617,000/- or Rs 7.25/- per kms or Rs 79,600/- per year thus far. For an entry level luxury sedan I believe this is reasonable.
Touchwood, reliability remains first class, service is even better. Sanjay Baluni, the engineer who has looked after this car from day one is competent and courteous and a pleasure to work with.
Still looks like a beauty. I was trying different angles in the winter sun and caught this sun & shade photo. No filters here folks. This is raw good looks. I admit my views are biased.
Where my wife or I spend a lot of our time. The front seat has been placed at its maximum rearward position to show leg space at its worst.
I love the wooden wheel and the takunami matt finish of the wood. That matt finish has not diminished in its good looks in almost 8 years. The cockpit arguably is not as modern as its contemporaries. I love its simplicity and knobs. I’m not a fan of big screens and feather touch screen control buttons.
Sayonara till my photoshoot in April of Bagheera’s 8th birthday.
