Hyderabad: CM A Revanth Reddy requested Union minister for coal and mines G Kishan Reddy‘s support in securing approvals and financial assistance from Centre for several key projects in Telangana, totaling an estimated 1.63 lakh crore.
Meeting with Kishan Reddy in Delhi, who also serves as the state BJP president and represents the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency, the CM stressed the importance of Kishan’s cooperation, particularly for projects that directly impact Greater Hyderabad.
The CM reminded that though RRR was sanctioned in 2022, the southern portion of the project is yet to receive approval from the Centre, and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has not granted clearance. Revanth Reddy explained that about 45,000 crore is required to link 10 greenfield roads to the RRR, as well as integrate the metro corridor with radial roads.
“Completing the RRR and radial roads would help foster the growth of industrial hubs, pharma clusters, logistic parks, and recreational parks along the route. The Centre has to give permission for various projects,” the CM told Kishan Reddy, seeking his help in getting clearances.
Revanth also mentioned that the state govt had submitted proposals for Hyderabad Metro Phase 2, a 76 km expansion worth 24,000 crore, with a 50:50 funding share proposed between the state and the Centre. He further discussed the Musi riverfront and Gandhi Sarovar projects, which are part of the larger Musi river development plan.
He requested Kishan Reddy’s help in acquiring 222 acres of defense land for the project, which is estimated to cost around 14,100 crore and includes the construction of sewage treatment plants (STPs) and 11 heritage bridges along the Musi.
