Tata Motors has introduced an attractive scheme for new buyers of the Nexon EV and Curvv EV. According to a recent media report, customers who purchase either of these two electric SUVs between December 9 and December 31, 2024, will be eligible for free charging at Tata Power EZ charging stations nationwide. New buyers of the Tata Nexon EV and Curvv EV must register their EVs on the Tata Power EZ Charge app, after which the free charging services will be activated within two days.
Key Points to Keep in Mind:
- The registered EV on the app must be a private vehicle purchased directly from a dealership, meaning the scheme applies only to first owners.
- Once the app registration is complete, customers will be eligible for up to 1,000 units of electricity or six months of free charging, starting from the date of purchase.
- After the specified electricity limit or time period, charging will be billed at the standard tariff.
With this new free charging scheme, Tata Motors aims to boost the sales of its popular EVs. In November 2024, the automaker sold 15,329 units of the Nexon and 5,101 units of the Curvv (including both ICE and EV models). Currently, the Tata Nexon EV is priced between ₹12.49 lakh and ₹17.19 lakh, while the Curvv EV is available at ₹17.49 lakh to ₹21.99 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
Tata Nexon EV Specifications:
The Nexon EV is offered in two variants – MR (Medium Range) and LR (Long Range) – featuring 30kWh and 40.5kWh battery packs, respectively. The MR variant delivers a claimed range of 325 km, while the LR version offers 465 km. A 7.2kW AC charger is provided as standard.
Tata Curvv EV Specifications:
The Curvv EV is available with two battery pack options – 45kWh and 55kWh – offering a range of 502 km and 585 km (MIDC), respectively. Tata Motors claims that the battery can be charged for up to 150 km of range in just 15 minutes using fast charging.
