Vijayawada: Having a mission statement is essential for the progress of either an individual or a state, deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan said during the unveiling of ‘Swarnandhra 2047‘ vision document on Friday. “Those who heckled chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for preparing Vision-2020 back in 1999 are enjoying its fruits today. It may appear ridiculous to have a vision and target for 2047, but one can achieve long-term sustainable growth only when you know where you are headed,” he said.
Pawan said Naidu’s foresight transformed Hyderabad into a modern IT hub. “He is the only one who could see Cyberabad in the hills and boulders of Hyderabad,” Pawan said, adding that he admired Naidu for his foresight to see the future. “I supported Naidu back in 2014 and also in 2024 only for the state, as I have always believed that his leadership is required to rebuild the state, which lost so much due to its unscientific bifurcation.”
The Jana Sena chief further said that it is not easy to come up with this kind of grand vision for the state within six months, and after five years of devastating rule that derailed the entire administration. Praising Naidu for leading the party and people for the past four decades, he said the chief minister had a dream for the state, and he spent sleepless nights preparing this vision.
“I know how difficult it is to meet the individual expectations of people. Treading on a tightrope and keeping the party united is only possible with consistency in decision-making, and Naidu has been doing it effortlessly,” he said, calling the vision document a comprehensive plan that reflects the dreams of Andhra Pradesh’s five crore people. “Gone are the days when we fought on caste, religion, and region lines. This is the time to erase all those divisive lines and stand united for the development of the state,” Pawan said.
Finance minister Payyavula Keshav said Naidu “worked day in and day out to unveil his grand vision for the state in this vision document”.
