The video which showed Hirya Naik handcuffed while being taken to a hospital in Sangareddy were posted by Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) questioning Telangana government.

After the uproar over videos of handcuffs to tribal farmer Hirya Naik while being taken to a hospital in Sangareddy went viral, Sangareddy Central Prison Jailer P. Sanjeev Reddy and Superintendent Santosh Roy were suspended late on Thursday (December 12, 2024).
Senior officials close to the matter said that the action was taken for negligence in handling the case as well as the prisoner.
