The YSRC on Friday (December 13) demanded that the government extend ₹20,000 financial aid to farmers under the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme as promised by the NDA leaders earlier.
YSRC took out rallies in Kurnool, Nandyal and Anantapur district headquarters, protesting against the alleged negligence of farmers by the government. They later submitted representations to the respective collectors or joint collectors.
In Nandyal, party reginal coordinator Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and district president Katasani Ramabhupal Reddy took out a rally to the collectorate before submitting the representation. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rambhupal Reddy said the previous YSRCP government had fulfilled all the promises it had made while the incumbent government cheated the farmers by not fulfilling its poll promises. “Not a single promise made under the banner of ‘Super Six’ has been fulfilled,’‘ he alleged.
He alleged that the government is not procuring the produce of the farmers by paying the minimum support price. The Rythu Bharosa Kendras are not functioning properly, and the farmers are now cursing themselves for voting the TDP-led NDA to power, he said.
In Anantapur, the YSRC leaders took out the rally demanding reinstatement of the free crop loan insurance scheme, setting up of purchase centres to procure paddy, groundnut, maize and other pulses, supply of drip and sprinklers to the farmers who had registered for them and immediate release of ₹32 crore input subsidy for the 17 mandals, which were declared drought-hit in 2023 rabi.
