IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Saturday said the government is keen on developing tier II and III cities, across the State, into locations for IT companies to set up their facilities.
“We want to create many more Hyderabads by promoting tier II and III cities,” the Minister asserted, citing the infrastructure in the form of fibre network till the last mile, good roads and power supply available in such cities.
It will be a win win situation for the companies and the local youth seeking jobs in the IT industry, Mr. Sridhar Babu said, appealing to the firms to consider setting up offices in such locations. He was speaking at the inauguration of the global development centre of global IT and engineering solutions firm Techwave here.
The new, 1 lakh sq ft facility in Hyderabad, to seat 1,200 people, will serve as a catalyst for the company’s digital transformation initiatives and global expansion strategies, the company said in a release. Headquartered in Houston (USA), Techwave has presence with offices in Hungary, the UK, South Africa and India.
Co-founder and Chairman Damodar Rao Gummadapu said the company has over 4,000 associates globally and the new facility is designed to drive innovation in digital solutions.
The facility will enhance client engagements and strengthen focus on driving innovation across the industry. Additionally, it positions the company to provide global capability centres (GCCs) with comprehensive, end-to-end setup solutions tailored to their unique requirements, Vice President – Global Delivery and Enterprise Digital Services Chandra Rao said.
