Hyderabad: A woman was attacked by a leopard in village in Adilabad district on Saturday morning. Bheemabai suffered injuries near her eye and was rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Adilabad town for treatment.
Bheemabai was near a cattle shed at her house in Dedra village in Bazarhathnoor mandal when the leopard jumped on her. The woman was answering a nature’s call when the leopard presumably came to prey on the cattle and attacked Bheemabai. When she raised a hue and cry, villagers rushed to her help.
The big cat vanished from the place.
Villagers alerted the forest officials about the leopard. Bheemabai was promised necessary help, including financial support, by the officials.
A month ago, pugmarks of a leopard were found by forest officials in Kuntala mandal in Adilabad district. In Thalamadugu mandal also, movement of a leopard was detected. TNN
