Cong to meet for GHMC poll prep

Hyderabad: Congress will begin an exercise to plan for the GHMC elections, which are due to be held next year. The party state leadership, including AICC general secretary Deepa Das Munshi, AICC secretary Vishnunath and TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, will hold deliberations in the city on Dec 16.
BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who is also Hyderabad city in-charge minister, said on Saturday that the focus of the party would be on winning a majority of wards in the GHMC elections. In addition to strengthening the party at the grassroots level and setting up committees at the division level, a plan will be made to publicise developmental works taken by the Congress govt after it came to power in 2023.
MLA candidates from city constituencies, DCC presidents, ex-PCC presidents, corporations chairmen, corporators and those who contested in GHMC elections last time will take part in the meeting.
