Hyderabad: The land acquisition process for the Old City Metro Rail project has entered final phase, with authorities fast-tracking the proceedings along the 7.5km MGBS-Chandrayangutta route.
According to Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited managing director NVS Reddy, the project involves acquiring approximately 1,100 properties, with requisitions for 900 properties already submitted to the district collector under the Land Acquisition Act. The collector issued preliminary notifications for 800 properties in phases, with preliminary declarations completed for 400 properties.
“Awards for compensation for 200 affected properties will be completed by month-end, followed by immediate compensation disbursement and demolition work,” stated metro authorities in a statement issued on Sunday.
