Telangana is reeling under severe cold wave conditions, with 13 districts recording minimum temperatures below 10°C on Sunday (December 15, 2024). This marks a sharper dip compared to Saturday (Dec. 14) when only five districts experienced such low temperatures.

According to data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), Adilabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 6.3°C, followed by 6.6°C in Nirmal, 6.7°C in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, and 6.8°C in Sangareddy. Other districts reporting colder conditions include Kamareddy (7.6°C), Nizamabad (7.7°C), Medak and Jagtial (8°C), Vikarabad (8.2°C), Siddipet and Rajanna Sircilla (8.6°C), Rangareddy (8.9° C), and Peddapalli (9.5°C).

Hyderabad also saw a significant drop in temperatures, with the minimum temperature recorded at 13.2°C on Sunday (Dec. 15), down from 14.9°C on Saturday (Dec. 14).

In other districts, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mancherial recorded a minimum temperature of 10.1°C, followed by Hanamkonda at 10.2°C, Mulugu at 10.5°C, and Warangal at 10.7°C. Medchal Malkajgiri and Karimnagar registered 11.1°C, while Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda recorded 11.8°C. Mahabubabad and Jangaon saw 11.9°C, with Nagarkurnool and Narayanpet at 12.1°C and Yadadri Bhongir at 12.2°C. Suryapet recorded 12.3°C, Bhadradri Kothagudem 12.4°C, Khammam 13.8°C, Wanaparthy 14.4°C, and Jogulamba Gadwal 14.8°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast mist or hazy conditions in Hyderabad during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures for the city are likely to be around 29°C and 15°C, respectively.
