NIZAMABAD: Cold wave conditions gripped the districts of Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, and Siddipet on Sunday, with temperatures ranging from 6.3°C to 8.6°C. The frigid weather has adversely affected the local population.
The lowest temperature of 6.3°C was recorded in Bheempur village, Arli-T mandal of Adilabad district. Following closely, Kohir mandal headquarters in Medak district recorded 6.8°C, Kotagiri mandal headquarters in Nizamabad district saw 7.6°C, Shivampet mandal in Medak district registered 8.0°C, and Akbar-Bhoompally village in Pothareddypet mandal of Siddipet district experienced temperatures of 8.6°C.
The severe cold has led to an increase in health issues among residents, including fever, cold, and cough. Additionally, a number of individuals have developed skin diseases, prompting visits to hospitals for treatment. Across the state, 13 centres recorded single-digit temperatures from Saturday night to Sunday morning.
Authorities have issued advisories to take necessary precautions to combat the harsh weather and have mobilised medical facilities to assist those affected by the cold wave. Efforts are ongoing to ensure the well-being of residents during this challenging period.
