Hyderabad: Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has refunded 33.27 crore to 4,893 cyber fraud victims across Telangana during the Mega National Lok Adalat held here on Saturday. A major portion of the amount, 12.77 crore, was refunded in 2,136 cases in the Cyberabad police commissionerate limits. Till date in 2024, 155.22 crore was refunded to 17,210 victims.
“These refund figures surpass the Bureau’s previous Lok Adalat refund figures of 27.2 crore. This initiative also underlines the Bureau’s unwavering commitment to ensuring justice and financial restitution for cyber fraud victims across Telangana,” Cyber Security Bureau director Shikha Goel said.
Among other police units that topped the refund list were Hyderabad with 8.84 crore in 268 cases, Rachakonda 4.53 crore in 592 cases, while the Bureau refunded 98.63 lakh to victims in 188 cases. Shikha Goel attributed the achievement to seamless coordination between the Bureau, Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TGLSA), district judges, magistrates, DLSAs, and police officers in respective units in the state.
Meanwhile, the Bureau urged the victims to stay vigilant and report cyber fraud promptly.
