Launched in early 2023, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has been an instant hit for the Indo-Japanese automaker. Proof of its popularity lies in the fact that the subcompact crossover SUV achieved the 2-lakh sales milestone within just 17 months of its market debut. It’s the fastest car in India to reach this sales mark. Now, the carmaker is preparing to give the Fronx a major upgrade in 2025. Here are the key details of the new 2025 Maruti Fronx facelift that we know so far.
Strong Hybrid Powertrain
A major highlight of the 2025 Fronx facelift will be the introduction of Maruti Suzuki’s own strong hybrid powertrain. Codenamed HEV, this new strong hybrid system is a series hybrid setup that will also be offered in Maruti Suzuki’s smaller and mid-level cars, including the Swift, Baleno, Brezza, and the upcoming mini MPV.
This new powertrain will not only enhance the fuel efficiency of the vehicles but also reduce their running costs and carbon footprint. Additionally, it is expected to be significantly more cost-effective than Toyota’s Atkinson cycle powertrain, which currently powers the Maruti Grand Vitara and Invicto.

High on Mileage
With the new strong hybrid powertrain, the 2025 Maruti Fronx facelift is set to become one of the most fuel-efficient cars in India. While the official mileage figures are yet to be revealed, speculations suggest it could deliver fuel economy of over 35 km/l.
Enhanced Safety with ADAS?
Recently, a partially camouflaged test mule of the Fronx was spotted with an ADAS sensor on its front grille. This sighting has fueled speculation that the compact crossover SUV will feature an ADAS suite with its midlife update in 2025. However, media reports suggest that the Maruti e Vitara, slated for early 2025, will likely be the first Maruti Suzuki model to offer ADAS.
Subtle Updates
The new Maruti Fronx hybrid is expected to receive minor updates to its exterior and interior. A few new features are anticipated with the facelift. The top-end variant of the current Fronx already boasts features such as a heads-up display (HUD), a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, connected car technology, six airbags, and more.
