Petrol spilled over the stretch of road between Allugaddabavi and Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad as a petrol tanker overturned to the side on Monday (December 16, 2024). The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. reportedly due to a tyre burst.

Telangana Disaster Response and Fire Services department were immediately alerted who rushed to the spot with three fire tenders by 11:47 a.m. Fire Control officersused water and foam to secure the area and prevent any potential fire hazards. Hyderabad Traffic police personnel too were present at the spot to secure the area.
“Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported. We halted traffic on this stretch to avoid slips and skids,” said a local traffic police officer on the spot.
The incident caused traffic disruptions in the area, with vehicles being diverted to alternative routes for nearly an hour.
By around 12:30 p.m., the overturned tanker, bearing the number AP 29 W 0893, was cleared from the road, and normal traffic resumed gradually. The Gopalapuram police booked a case. The authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the tyre burst.
