Kia Syros is just a few days away from its official unveiling, scheduled for December 19, 2024. This new sub-4-meter SUV from the South Korean automaker is set to challenge rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, and the upcoming Skoda Kylaq. It will also compete against other subcompact SUVs, including the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon.
The Kia Syros will make its public debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January, with its price announcement expected at the event. Official bookings for the Syros are set to begin in the coming weeks, though select Kia dealers have already started accepting pre-bookings for the vehicle.

The petrol unit delivers a claimed 120 bhp and 172 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine produces 116 bhp and 250 Nm. Multiple gearbox options will be available, varying by variant, and will include both manual and automatic transmissions.
“Lounge-Like” Experience
Spy images have revealed several intriguing details about the new Kia compact SUV. A major highlight of the Syros is its rear seat space, which is reported to be more spacious than that of the Kia Sonet. The automaker claims that the Syros will deliver a “lounge-like” experience, featuring advanced amenities and a flexible seating arrangement. The subcompact SUV will also include reclining rear seats for enhanced comfort.
Feature-Packed Interior
The Kia Syros promises a well-equipped cabin. A large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be reserved for the top-end trim. Additionally, a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster will be offered.
Official teasers highlight features such as a new two-spoke steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a powered driver seat, ventilated front seats, USB-C ports, a panoramic sunroof (available only in the top trim), a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). Mid-spec variants will include a single-pane sunroof. The Syros will also offer multiple terrain modes—Mud, Snow, Wet, and Sand—to enhance its versatility across different driving conditions.
Unique Design Elements
Teasers and spy shots showcase the Syros’ tall, upright stance. Up front, it features Kia’s signature Tiger Nose grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps and DRLs, and a clamshell bonnet bearing the iconic logo. The side profile is bold, with thick black cladding over the wheel arches, newly designed alloy wheels, and a body-colored B-pillar. The top-end variants are likely to come with exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels. Like the Mahindra XUV700, the Kia Syros features flush-fitting door handles. At the rear, the SUV sports L-shaped, high-mounted taillamps and a unique kink near the rear quarter glass, adding to its distinctive design.
