Sites to be given in Guntur and NTR districts: Minister Narayana

Vijayawada:Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana has said those who were allotted house site pattas in the R-5 zone of Amaravati would be given these in their respective regions in the Guntur and NTR districts.

The minister assured farmers that the TD-led government would resolve all issues of those who had pledged their lands for the capital construction.

Narayana inaugurated a free health camp organised by the Madala Govardhan Rao Charitable Trust at Neeru Konda village in Mangalagiri on Monday.

He noted that the MGR Trust was providing free medical services to the poor. The state government, through the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, is also offering free healthcare and treatment services to the underprivileged people.

Narayana said the previous dispensation did not pay contractors’ bills. It took six months for the new government to resolve the hurdles. All agreements the YSRC government made with contractors have been canceled “based on an engineering committee report,” he claimed.

Narayana said the government was making significant progress in the construction of Amaravati. The CRDA Authority has approved development works worth `20,000 crore for the capital city, and tenders would be floated within five days.

The minister said the construction of Amaravati would be completed within three years. The officials’ residential housing complex would be ready within nine months and road constructions would be completed within 1.5 years.

He said the state government would install a statue of former chief minister NT Rama Rao in Neeru Konda village. The work on the project would start soon.
