The Skoda Kylaq is the latest subcompact SUV offering from the Czech automaker in India. The carmaker has already revealed its variant detailsfeatures, and prices, while deliveries are slated to begin on 27th January 2024. Test drives are also likely to commence by the end of next month. Bookings are already underway, and the model has gathered 10,000 orders so far. The Kylaq model lineup comprises four trims – Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige – all powered by a 115bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are on offer.
The petrol-manual Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige variants are priced at Rs 7.89 lakh, Rs 9.59 lakh, Rs 11.40 lakh, and Rs 13.35 lakh, respectively. Buyers can opt for an automatic gearbox with three trims – Signature, Signature+, and Prestige – priced at Rs 10.59 lakh, Rs 12.40 lakh, and Rs 14.40 lakh, respectively.
Base Variant Sold Out
Earlier, the Czech automaker revealed that the first batch of the Skoda Kylaq would consist of 33,000 units, which will be delivered by May 2025. The SUV’s entry-level Classic variant has already been sold out, and the company has stopped accepting bookings for it temporarily. Bookings for the Classic trim will reopen after the first batch has been delivered. Skoda also announced that the production numbers for each variant will be adjusted based on market demand. Production Begins
Production of this new sub-4-metre SUV recently commenced at Skoda’s Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune. It is the fifth model from the brand to be based on its heavily localized MQB-A0-IN platform. SAVWIPL stated that it has increased the Chakan plant’s production capacity by 30 percent to 255,000 units annually. To improve customer support, the carmaker is aggressively expanding its sales and service network nationwide. Skoda Auto India plans to expand its network to 350 outlets, covering Tier II and Tier III cities, by 2025.
Special Package for First Customers
Skoda is offering a special maintenance package for the first 33,333 customers of the Kylaq compact SUV. With this package, the running cost of the vehicle will be reduced to Rs 0.24/km. Buyers will also receive a standard 3-year/1,00,000km warranty with the SUV.
