The all-new Kia Syros sub-4 metre SUV is just a couple of days away! The model is set to make its official debut on 19th December, followed by its public display at the Bharat Mobility Show in January. Prices for the new offering are likely to be announced at the same event, with deliveries expected to begin a few weeks later. Select Kia dealerships have already started accepting pre-bookings ahead of its official market launch.

Wider and Taller Than Sonet

We now have detailed information about the dimensions of the upcoming Kia compact SUV. According to leaked data, the Kia Syros measures 3,995mm in length, which is identical to the Sonet. However, it stands 1,800mm wide and 1,665mm tall, compared to the Sonet’s 1,790mm width and height range of 1,610mm to 1,642mm. The Syros also has a longer wheelbase of 2,550mm as opposed to the Sonet’s 2,500mm.

Additionally, the new SUV offers a larger boot space of 406 litres, surpassing the Sonet’s 385 litres of cargo capacity. With its wider and taller stance, the Syros will promise more cabin space and headroom for occupants. Segment-First Features

Besides its spacious cabin, the Kia Syros will offer high-tech features, including a Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and a panoramic sunroof. The interior of the Syros will reflect a premium feel, similar to the Seltos. It will feature a twin-screen setup with 12.3-inch displays—one dedicated to the infotainment system and the other serving as the instrument cluster. For entertainment, the SUV will be equipped with an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Comfort features include ventilated seats for both the front and second rows.

Turbo-Petrol & Diesel Power

The Kia Syros will be offered with turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, targeting rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and the upcoming Skoda Kylaq. The petrol version will use the familiar 1.0L turbocharged engine from the Sonet, producing 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. The diesel variant will source power from a 1.5L engine, delivering 114bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed DCT automatic.
