While the exteriors of SVH Tundar are a rip-off of Toyota Tundra full size Pickup truck, interiors are inspired by Merc’s G-Class
China is a country where copyright law is not exactly exercised at the highest levels. One could say that China’s weak copyright laws allow manufacturers to rip off Western car designs. While some of these rip-offs are very close to originals, some are downright hilarious. Like a spoof version of the original.
That’s exactly the case with SVH’s new pickup truck called Tundar. It is a ridiculous rip-off of Toyota Tundra full-size pickup truck. Proportions of SVH Tundar look goofy and so does its name. One could say that the company just inversed last two letters of Tundra and arrived at Tundar.
Toyota Tundra Rip-Off
Almost every popular car design in the world has a cheap rip-off version in China. The weak copyright laws in the Dragon Land allow OEMs to get away with launching knock-offs successfully. Recently, Toyota Tundra just joined the long list of copied car designs by Chinese brands and this is a rather hilarious one.
Called SVH Tundar, this vehicle is a small pickup truck, which could hardly be used for any of the trucking activities. Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup truck, which is larger than the mid-size pickup trucks like Tacoma and Hilux. In comparison, SVH Tundar is a dinky little wannabe pickup truck with no real utility or ruggedness.
At the front, we can see that SVH has squished overall design of Tundra into a much smaller size. Grill at the front takes up entire fascia and is flanked by headlights that look very similar to those of Tundra’s. Windscreen is very upright and almost vertical. On the side, Tundar’s dinky little 13-inch wheels are just laughable.
There’s hardly any ground clearance too, especially when compared to what is on offer with Tundra. Cabin looks like it was squeezed into a smaller footprint and there’s a load bay. It is not a flat load bed and has wheel well intrusions. But is rather small and no better than a real SUV’s boot. There’s a roll cage here and a Tundar embossing on tailgate as well.
Mercedes G-Class Inspired Interiors
While SVH Tundar aims to be a Toyota Tundra on the outside, it has much higher copy-cat aspirations on the inside. We say this because SVH Tundar has interiors inspired by the might G Wagon. The dashboard is flat, finished in dual-tone colour theme with circular AC vents and a digital screen, just like a G-Class.
Under the tiny bonnet, there’s a dinky little 1.0L 3-cylinder engine that sends power to only 2 wheels. Top speed of this vehicle is only 100 km/h and we doubt it will reach that speed. Looking at SVH Tundar, it doesn’t look like it will not do any of the truck things that Toyota Tundra can do.
