Aizawl: Vishakapatnam’s Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) Monday handed over a ‘hybrid solar dryer with automated temperature controller technology’ to Mizoram horticulture minister Lalnilawma to help the farmers in the state preserve their harvest.
An official statement said representatives of GITAM university gifted the solar dryer for the betterment of the farmers in the state.
Accepting the gift, Lalnilawma expressed hope that the technology will cut down the time and expenses of the farmers in drying their harvest, which will be utilised in the venture being undertaken under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture by the state horticulture department.
