2 Big Tata SUVs Unveiling In January 2025

Tata Motors is set to uplift its EV (electric vehicle) game in 2025 with three major product launches, including the Harrier EV, Sierra EV, and Safari EV. If rumors are to be believed, the electric iteration of the Altroz premium hatchback will also be launched next year.

  • Tata Harrier EV will deliver a range of around 600km.
  • The Sierra EV and its ICE version will arrive in the second half of 2025.
  • The Harrier and Sierra will underpin the Acti.ev platform.
  • Safari EV and Altroz EV might also join Tata’s EV lineup in 2025.

The production-ready versions of the Tata Harrier EV and Sierra EV will debut at the Bharat Mobility Show, slated to begin on January 17, 2025. While the Harrier EV is expected to hit the market by March, the Sierra EV is scheduled for release in the second half of 2025. Here’s a brief overview of these upcoming Tata electric SUVs:

The Harrier EV will be Tata’s third electric product based on the Acti.ev platform, which is designed to maximize space and energy efficiency. This architecture supports three drivetrains: FWD, RWD, and AWD, with vehicles built on it capable of offering a range of up to 600 km. Official specifications of the Tata Harrier EV are still under wraps, though the electric SUV is likely to feature a 60kWh battery and dual electric motors. It will also support V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging capabilities. The Harrier EV will retain most of its design elements and interior features from the concept version. Once launched, it will be Tata’s flagship electric offering, expected to cost around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Both the Sierra EV and ICE (internal combustion engine) versions are ready for launch. While the electric version will be built on the Acti.ev platform, the ICE-powered Sierra will use Tata’s new ATLAS architecture. Details of this upcoming Tata electric SUV remain scarce, though reports suggest it may be offered with single and dual-motor options, delivering a maximum range of around 500 km. The AWD (all-wheel drive) system will be available as an option.

The Sierra’s ICE version is expected to feature Tata’s new 1.5L Hyperion turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines. Compared to the original Sierra, the new model boasts a modern design in line with Tata’s new design language. However, it will retain key elements such as the black C and D-pillars, curved rear windows, and a large rear glass area reminiscent of the iconic Sierra.
