Hyderabad: Top film producer V Venkata Ramana Reddy, popularly known as Dil Raju, said that efforts would be made to develop Hyderabad as a base for the Indian film industry.
Dil Raju, who took charge as chairman of Telangana Film Development Corporation on Dec 18 (Wednesday), which happened to be his birthday also, said: “Shootings for Hindi films and other language films are already taking place here, but the vision of chief minister A Revanth Reddy is to make Hyderabad a hub where Indian cinema looks towards Hyderabad as the one-stop destination.”
Dil Raju mentioned that film distributors and producers have some requests to make for the govt, and he would facilitate better communication and resolution of the issues by taking them up with the govt. He said producers want the state govt to give single-window approval for their shootings so that they can get the needed permissions for shooting at different locations.
“There was a time when the FDC was more involved with the film industry and the making of films. The govt’s vision is to bring back that kind of era where the FDC and film industry worked together,” he said. He said he would work with the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce in getting the issues pertaining to the film industry addressed by the govt.
While congratulating Dil Raju, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce said the industry would grow to greater heights in Telangana with him at the helm. Several film personalities also congratulated Dil Raju.
