Hyderabad: Questioning the disparities in the Congress govt statement and the RBI report on the borrowings during the previous BRS govt and state’s liabilities, AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi has alleged that the Congress govt was giving different figures.
“We want investors to come to Hyderabad, but the govt is sending away the investors. The Congress govt is following in the footsteps of the Centre that wants to restrict the FRMB limit of Telangana,” he said.
He said that while the RBI reports confirmed govt borrowings (as of March 31, 2024) at 4,32,154 crore, the govt claims the debt was 7,11,911 crore. He asked where did the govt cull out the ‘magic figures’ from.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka replied that the govt was trying to give realistic pictures from the budget and he was not trying to fault the agencies such as RBI. tnn
