Hyderabad: Goshamahal legislator T Raja Singh has urged the govt not to construct the proposed new Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal stadium ground. The BJP MLA pointed out that the ground was used by walkers, sportspersons and also by organisations for gatherings.
Speaking during the zero hour in the assembly on Tuesday, Raja Singh said the locals were also opposing shifting the Osmania Hospital to the area. He said the govt should drop the idea of shifting the hospital to the ground.
“The locals have a concern. We wish something like Covid-19 will not happen again, but people flocking to a hospital with something as communicable as Covid-9 would pose a health risk to the people in the surrounding areas. That is why they do not want Osmania Hospital to be shifted to Goshamahal,” Raja Singh said.
During the zero hour, Bahadurpura MLA Mohd Mubeen urged the govt to construct a foot-over-bridge (FOB) at the Nehru Zoological Park. The MIM legislator said two flyovers were coming up near the zoo, and it would be difficult for people to cross the road at this place. He pointed out that hundreds of people, especially tourists, visit the zoo, and therefore the FOB would benefit them in crossing the road.
Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy of BRS said ROBs and RuBs were needed in his constituency, and another building was needed for the govt college in his constituency. As of now, there were 1,500 undergraduate and 1200 junior college students. As there was no space, they were functioning in two shifts. He wanted the govt to take the local MLAs into confidence and involve them in allocating money under the Special Development Fund.
